Moving forward.

Sneaking an update in, working to finalize this self portrait soon. Pretty far past my own deadline, I know, though learning plenty in these stages.

Re-correcting a bit more on the left eye, then a pass of darker shades, and finishing with detail work.

Still looks a bit odd without the beard and hair finished, though making sure the facial structure is somewhat recognizable.

I was also able to start on this commissioned piece last week, building momentum to paint it full time over the next month.

Easing into this viewpoint, it’s the farthest subject I’ve painted. Stoked to have some reference material I can appreciate and learn from.

Anxious to have these pieces well underway before starting a full show for this fall. I’m narrowing a few last ideas down, though they should be a bit unpredictable..
