Society6

What a Summer! I spent time on the road, with many adventures, relocated home and studio, making new friends and memories along the way.

Without a sturdy studio space, living light out of a backpack on the road, I decided to get more spontaneous illustration time in. Backed up loosely with my moleskin and pencil case, I chose to work foremost with Adobe’s new digital stylus. My iPad is never too far, as a valuable tool for my daily use, and turning it into a digital sketchbook adds to it’s versatility.

I’m releasing an initial run of art at Society6! I’ve opened this run to prints, as well as clothing, and phone cases. I plan to open this artwork to other products over time, if there’s something you’re interested in, let me know! Visit me at http://society6.com/gatlinmcclun

Snake-Charmer-WEB

First up is “Snake Charmer”, this revolver started years ago as a black pen drawing, and has returned fully digital. I enjoyed looking over some of these older sketches, so theres a good chance you may find some new weapons from my armory.

EDDIE-WEB

This, is Eddie. A tough little guy all around, also a bit of a goofball.

Ocular-Witch-Doctor-WEB

Last but not least, Ocular Witch Doctor. As Snake Charmer was based on an older sketch, and Eddie was rendered with the help of reference, Ocular Witch Doctor was a complete digital illustration from the ground up. I began the base sketching in and while I was happy with the basic layout and design, I put the drawing on hold until I could work in more detail. Not long after, Adobe released , a vector drawing app with layers and a bit more precision. Definitely happy to see this piece rendered at a large size.

I’ll be working on new pieces over time, if there is a new product or color variation you’d like to see, feel free to drop me a line here or at gatlinmcclun@gmail.com!
